My name is Erica Wang and I am quite new to track and field as a sport, competing on the varsity track team in the winter and spring of my junior year of high school. Despite this, I have always been very active throughout my life, playing all different kinds of sports like Volleyball, skating, skiing, dance and gymnastics. Track quickly became one of my favorite actvities because I really enjoyed how supportive my school team and coaches were, and although track is mainly an individual sport, there was also a lot of collaboration amongst teammates. I would be a good addition to the team since I like seeking advice and criticism and improving my skills, and I am also a flexible athelete: My main event is the javelin, but I also have competed in long jump, triple jump, pole vault, high hurdles, and high jump.
I am extremely hardworking and passionate about balancing my athletics along with my academic responsibilities. I take very rigorous AP and honors courses while trying my best to balance my coursework with atheletics, clubs, and my job. Ever since I was young I have loved programming and computers, so I intend to study computer science as a major in College since it is one of my biggest interests, although I also enjoy engineering as well.
