Hi! My name is Martina Mileti, thanks for taking the time to look at my profile! I am currently going into my junior year of high school at Connetquot High School in Bohemia on Long Island. I am looking to become a history teacher. In college, I want to be a part of a program that allows me to succeed as a student-athlete with small to medium-sized classes. Along with that, I want to be a part of a competitive team that will constantly be pushing me to do my best. I am a competitive person who thrives in high-intensity and pressure situations and I love to push myself to new limits I didn't know I had.
Throughout the majority of my sporting career, I have played soccer, making it to state championships and different regional and national tournaments/showcases. I also have experience as an Irish step and hip-hop dancer and as a gymnast. Although recently, starting in 8th grade, I have been involved in track and field. Throughout my 8th-grade year, I ran the 200 and 4x100 relay, as well as the long jump, but when I moved onto my freshman year of high school I became more of a mid-distance runner focusing on the 600, 800, and 1500 meter races, making it to county's, state quals, and nationals in the 4x800. This past year, I focused mainly on the 1000 and 4x400 during winter and the 400 and 800 in spring. I made it to the Millrose Games and Penn Relays with my 4x4, and county's, state quals, and nationals again with my 4x8. This upcoming year I am doing cross-country for the first time, and cannot wait to see what I can accomplish. I am still competing competitively for soccer on the Surf G07 national team, but as of recently, my focus has shifted to track and field. I encourage you to look at my Instagram and my youtube, which is where I have most of my past races uploaded. I am frequently updating my Instagram with meets, races, and workouts.
I am a High Honor Roll student and am currently involved in the English and Science National Honor Societies. I am currently applying for the National Honor Society, National Social Studies Honor Society, and Foreign Language Honor Society. This year I have been working closely with the Board of Education at Connetquot to open an Athletic Honor Society, which should be if not the first, then one of the first chapters on Long Island. I just finished the AP World History and AP Seminar courses, along with Honors Chemistry, Honors Algebra 2, and Honors Spanish 4. Next year I plan on taking AP US History, AP Language and Composition, AP Psychology, College Anatomy, Spanish 5 Honors, ASL, and Honors Pre-Calculus.
