I started track and field at an early age, after my parents discovered my speed in the summer following 4th grade; this has led to a great passion and dedication to the sport. Track and field has taught me to strive for greatness and self-improvement - not just 1st place. It has humbled me in ways I never expected, teaching me adaptability and grit through highest of highs and lowest of lows. In my freshman year, I was appointed the team captain; this launched me into a leadership role I was eager to fill. My teammates admire me, citing my bubbly personality, no-quit attitude, and my ability to be the ultimate hype-man.
I have run the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m sprints the entirety of my track and field career, picking up long jump and 4x200m along the journey. I have competed at the state level my entire high school career. In the 2023-2024 indoor season, I was awarded with Frontier League All Star honor, Section X All Star honor, and was crowned the 4x200m Section X Champion.
Alongside my busy track and field schedule, I enjoy remaining an active member of my community, both at school and at large. I participate in NHS, HOSA, SADD, Key Club, 4H, Comanche County 4 H, dance club, and other clubs as well as volunteering at my church and maintaining part time employment at a restaurant. As Lao Tzu says, "time is a created thing. To say, 'I don't have time,' is like saying, 'I don't want to.'" All in all, I am a passionate go-getter who does not believe in “I can’t” statements; I know in all of life’s endeavors, I can and I will.
