Shaylyn Tuite '11 Recruiting Profile

Starting out as a seventh grader on a varsity cross-country team worried many people that I may burn out or like running less and less each year. But over these past five years my passion and love for running has only grown. I have participated in the New York State cross-country championships five years in a row and outdoor state meet every year since eighth grade. Not to say during this time I haven't hit rough times with injuries and mental slumps, but each thing I can proudly say made me a stronger runner and overall person. Realizing that success comes with more than natural talent, I have become a more disaplined and driven athlete as well as student. I look forward to continue improving in highschool and finding a college where I can continue growing both academically and athletically.
