Although, my first experience with track was in 8th grade I didn’t officially run track until my freshmen year. During my 8th grade year, the middle school girls track coach approached me as she thought I would be a good fit for the team. I told her that I played basketball and had no interest in running track. However, she convinced me to try out for the team. After the first day I concluded track wasn’t for me, so I didn’t go back. During basketball season my freshmen year, track coaches approached me asking if I was interested in track. My answer was still an unsurprising no. Upon the end of basketball season the basketball head coach highly encouraged the team to run track to assist with keeping fit. Little did I know that while only running to maintain peak physical fitness track would become a major part of my life and a sport I truly love. I didn’t return to the basketball court the following season! The tide turned where basketball coaches were asking me to reappear but my passion for track became unmovable. I ran the indoor/winter season and focused my attention towards enhancing my racing skills. Basketball coaches would tease me by saying, “I remember when you constantly said, I don’t want to run track!” Now you're giving up basketball for it!
Running track is among many of my interests. I am a pianist, artist, singer, and former basketball player. I am in my school's choir and made it into the all-county chorus. Playing the piano is something I enjoy during my free time, and I have been playing for about 8 years now. I want to major in Sports Management and eventually become a Sports Agent. Track is my main passion, and I am looking forward to running in college.
