Many aspects of my life have influenced me to become who I am today. God has influenced me to become the Christian I am, and he has also given me the gift of being able to run. My parents have also influenced me, especially my mom. She runs with me, cheers me on and pushes me at all my meets, and gives me the resources I need to be successful. Without them, I wouldn't be able to achieve my goals in running or academics. I first started running in 8th grade, by doing Harrisburg Runners, a running club for ages 7-18. As soon as I joined the team, I fell in love with cross country. This led me to doing cross country in high school, and eventually track during the spring of my freshman year. I immediately loved both sports, and I still don't know which one I like better! This will be my 3rd season of running high school cross country, and I am so eXCited to conquer the trails!
By participating in both track and cross country, I have learned the importance of hard work, determination, being a leader, and not giving up, which are all vital in order to be successful. My goals for this year are to drop my times, continue to make A's in all my classes, increase my 4.21 gpa, and be a leader not only on the track but as well as in the classroom. My goals for college are to receive running & academic scholarships, and go to a school that fits my interests. My greatest accomplishment so far would be qualifying for states in the 4x800 relay for track during my sophomore year. We all poured our hearts into that race, and it showed when we qualified as well as breaking the school record. It meant a lot!
I am energetic, enthusiastic, driven, and I have a strong work ethic. I am very organized, and my teammates always come to me for answers to questions regarding upcoming meets or just running in general. I am looking for a division 1 or 2 school to run at, and am open to many different types of schools! I've had to overcome many obstacles to get where I am today, but it's part of my journey. I am so excited for what the future holds and am looking forward to continuing my running & academic career!
