Ethan Buchanan '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Ethan Buchanan, I am currently a senior at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg NC. I have been playing golf since I was about 8 years of age and have really grown a love for the sport.  My goal is to be able to pay on the collegiate level at some point in my career. I would absolutely love a chance to get to work with a college coach and be able to improve my level of play with someone who can really help me become the best golfer I can be. I really want to play at a high level that I know will challenge me and force me to become the player that I know I can become. I have currently not played in any major tournaments to obtain a ranking but I plan on doing so in the near future.

I believe  I would thrive on a college team because I consider myself a great team player and I strive to learn from anyone that I possibly can. Not only am I a great team player but I am also a great person to come to if you need anyone to talk to. I have played on my high school's team all four years and have become the person that everyone comes to when they need to calm down or just want a break from the serious game of golf.

One thing that I believe that sets my character apart from other recruits is that I am an Eagle Scout. I believe this sets me apart because I have had to become a leader many times in my scouting career and during the project itself and I am very prone to making tough decisions. This helps me tremendously on the golf course when trying to decide when it is worth going for a long par five in two or laying it up to a distance that I feel confident that I can put it close and give myself a great look at birdie. 

Another trait that I believe sets me apart from other recruits is my grades that I am very proud of. I have maintained a 3.5 and higher GPA all 4 years in high school and have taken multiple AP courses in which I excelled in. I believe I have set myself up perfectly to excel in college as well, and possibly be on the dean's list.

I would like to finish by saying I am putting in many hours and rounds to improve upon my game as much as possible and am open to and drills/advice that can be shared.
