1A Western Region...Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Kelia Oliver and I have always had a passion for sports. I was introduced to shot put in the 7th grade where at every meet I would place 2nd, falling shy of 1st. This made me work much harder. My 8th grade year I went undefeated in conference and won my conference meet, beating my school's record. As a senior, over my 4 years in high school, I have qualified for conference and regionals every year and finished in the top 5 for outdoor track. In May 2018, I finished 5th in discus in the 1A NCHSAA Track and Field State Championship as well was apart of the 1A State Championship team. My indoor track career has been just as successful. I have qualified for the 1A/2A NCHSAA Indoor Track State Championships all 4 years of my high school career. Each year, my finishes have improved. My Goals are to attend college and play the sport I love and to keep pushing myself. I plan to major in Teaching - Special Education.
