I began running the summer before entering middle school (6th grade). My dad said that he wanted to train for a Marathon and I decided I would run some of his easy runs with him. A few weeks into training, he mentioned I may have some natural ability and said we should look further into coaching. I suggested that I should join my new school's Cross Country team to meet new people and continue running. I joined the team and began to develop my love for running. After Cross Country season, I decided to continue onto Track season in the spring. Within my first week of Track practice, the Varsity Coach wanted to work with me more and decided to move me to workout with the Varsity Team. As Track season came to an end I joined a Track Club Team for the summer and ran in the USATF Jr. Olympics competing in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m. I have continued to run on the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams during my 7th and 8th grade years in middle school. I was a State Qualifying participant in the NCISAA 3A Track State Championship both 7th, 8th and 9th grade years.

My parents have instilled the importance of education in my life and the need to focus on my school work. I strive to maintain high grades in all of my classes. I have been a member of the Duke TIP program and National Jr. Honor Society during middle school. As a member of the Duke TIP program, I was able to take the SAT during my 7th grade year. I am aiming to become a member of the National Honor Society my sophomore year in High School and maintain a GPA of 4.0 or higher. After High School, I would like to receive a degree in Business and possibly move onto study Law or Physical Therapy. If I were to study Law, I would concentrate on Business or Corporate Law. However, if I choose to study Physical Therapy, I would like to help other athletes reach their goals.
During middle school I have been able to participate in Choir, Dance and Piano. I have been active in my church's Youth Ministry, participating in Wednesday night small group and outreach missions. During my 8th grade year, I was selected to be a leader of the Middle School Fellowship of Christian Athletes at NRCA. I was a member of my school's 8th grade Service Club and tutored 6th grade students every week. As member of the Castle Craziez, my school's Spirit Team, I helped encourage students to attend our school's sporting events.
