From an athletic standpoint, I’ve remained passionate about sports and exercise since I was able to walk. I’ve always taken part in an activity that requires endurance: dance, cross country, soccer, etc. but the only thing that I feel connected to is track. The goals I have made and accomplished for myself throughout High School, has made that connection stronger. I made a plan my freshman year that before I graduate I’ll run a 56.50 in the 400. So far I’ve shaved a second off my time every year bringing me closer to my goal. With that being said, track has taught me to push myself beyond all “limits”, be patient, remain focused, to never underestimate myself or others, and to remember to breathe. All things that I utilize in my day to day life; talking to family and friends, going to school, volunteering, and taking part in clubs.
Academically, I want to major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine or Zoology. After college, I want to move to Arizona and eventually open up my own traveling rehabilitation and veterinarian clinic. To ensure that my dream comes true, I’ve taken classes geared towards Veterinary Medicine. Such as, Honors Biology, Honors Algebra 1 and 2, and Chemistry. I’ve consistently received the Honor Roll Award, maintained a 4.0 GPA, and am a part of National Honor Society. I've also volunteered with local animal shelters and Veterinary clinics.
In Conclusion, I’m looking for a college that is not only as dedicated to track as I am, but has a science program that will set me up for great veterinary success. I’m hoping to not only gain a potential family, but to enhance my knowledge and skill level on and off the track.
