Running is a sport that requires both love for the sport and dedication for its demands. I believe that I possess both of these qualities. I began running with my family when I was only seven years old in Copenhagen. We went for family runs and did 5k races together. By virtue of starting so young, I have found a profound love for the sport and am certain that I will keep running into my old age. Coupled with my love for running, I am immensely dedicated to doing everything in power to reach my full potential in this domain. I have run in temperatures ranging from negative 30 celsius to positive 30 celsius. I run with my siblings on vacations, in the summer, and on days when it is all I can do to start running. I believe that nothing will be able to stop me from reaching my goal with my determination. Running has taught me that personal success and accomplishments come to different people at different times. That if you diligently put in the work you will surely reap the rewards. I have experienced this many times, after all of my personal bests which I owe to the work I put in months prior. I am certain that I am still planting, and my biggest harvest is yet to come.
My character lends itself to being a significant part of my journey. One obstacle that has affected my character is that I have lived in five different places throughout my life, each one unique and special. Moving so much has shaped me into the person I am today, and I am grateful for every experience I have gained as a consequence of it. What’s more, my faith is arguably the largest aspect of my character. I owe all that I am to God, and I am grateful for every day he has given me to chase my dreams here on earth. Owing to my faith, my passion and desire to be the runner I aspire to be is what shapes my character.
Regarding my academics, my aspiration is to become an architect who designs beautiful spaces that provoke reverence in those who experience them. I am certain that as a result of the hard work I have put in so far, and how hard I will work in university, that this will surely become a reality. I have always valued my grades and done the work required to obtain them. Moreover, I enjoy math and physics and the privilege of learning in general. Overall, I am beyond excited to find a school that is a perfect fit for my athletics, academics, and for which I can contribute to.
