Olivia Onuah '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Olivia Onuah and I’m a Thrower from Belleville, Ontario. I throw discus and shot put.

I started throwing during my grade nine year track season in April of 2017. I seemed to have an immediate passion for throwing.

in my sophomore year of high school, I finished second in junior girls shot put at the 2018 OFSAA Championships.  

During my junior year (2019), I finished fifth in senior girls discus and tenth in senior girls shot put  at OFSAA. I had over an eight meter  personal best from the beginning of the season to the end in discus and over a a two meter personal best in shot put with the 4kg Shot. 

I’m still working on the technical aspect of throwing but I’ve been improving in both events. My minimal training shows me just how much potential I have. 

I also play for my schools basketball, volleyball, badminton, and tennis team. All of my other sports have helped with my explosiveness and made me the athlete that I am today. 

My goals are to join a team at the collegiate level and be a good teammate. I would also like to see what I’m capable of with intense training.
