Hello coaches! My name is Darshani Deochand and I am an aspiring track and field athlete that hopes to go to the Olympics one day (to earn a gold medal). I am going into grade 11 this year at Maple High School, and I am hoping to prove myself worthy of achieving this goal in terms of athletics and academics. I am a great candidate for your team because I am always eager to become a better athlete. No matter how hard or tiring the workouts are, I will always show up prepared to put my whole heart and soul into practice. Furthermore, I am a great motivator. I never want to see my teammates give up when they are right at the edge of success, so I push them to their full capabilities. What makes me different from other recruits is that I do not see track as just a sport. I see it as an escape and a place to let all of your emotions run free. Whenever I am upset, or about to let my anger get to me, I always go to the track and get in a good workout to calm my mind and put myself at ease. In terms of academics, I am great at balancing my work with practice and getting stuff done. I do not let any distractions into my zone when it is time for school as I know I have practice later on, and would not have time to do schoolwork later in the day. This is just a little bit about me. I am eager to get to work, impress the world, and have my last name known worldwide.
