As an athlete I have big goals, the first being getting into a collage/university with a good track/cross country program. I started running in grade 3 when cross country started up I was just 8 but remember I had a blast sprinting across the finish with loads of energy left as it was my first race ever, I didn’t really know how to race properly, I got 8th that race, that was the start of my journey. Ever since then I’ve been hooked. All through Elementary school I waited patently for the announcement saying cross country/track to start. I’ve been training hard for years, in elementary school I went out to the school lunch practices everyday. One day in grade 8,I hurd about a running club, I joined a couple day after, best decision of my life. Grade 8 was an amazing season I improved so much. The following year I competed in my first high school cross country season, sadly it didn’t go well so, I trained hard and when indoor track season came around I was ready for my first indoor race ever, I did very well coming in with my old 800m pr of 2:40. This was back in February of 2020, very long time ago. Throughout the 2 years of covid I have been working, of course there were some ups and downs that slowed me down a bit but I have never given up, I will never give up, I couldn’t even if I tried it’s in my nature to keep going. I am graduating in 2023 but will be taking a gap year so I will have more time to improve my time. These next 2 years I will be working hard to drop my times drastically.
