Track has always been a passion of mine and I will continue improving on this sport as long as possible. There are challenges. It is the bare minimum to push through those, however, I always expect to go above and beyond them.
What I admire about the coaches is the willingness to wake up every day and push you to your absolute fullest. This is done simultaneously with advising you on skills or form that they have learned, while also granting you the freedom of choice as the athlete.
Balance is key with training and study. I train hard, but when I am finished, I am finished, and I focus on other big goals in the day. My grades are kept up with good understanding and application so that when I get myself on the track, I am there, not distracted by something else back in the classroom.
I love science and the predictability of it. When I go to college I will major in genetic engineering so that I can dedicate my life to helping adults and children prevent unnecessary illness. There are big things to come in that profession and I am going to love being a part of it.
There are natural skills on the track that come into play, and I have been blessed with a competitive starting point, however, it is up to hard work and great coaching to bring an athlete from where they start, to their full potential.
I am grateful for this opportunity!
