I have been doing track since I was 9 years old. Moving to the US from Slovakia at the age of 14 added an unexpected twist to my journey. Starting with a diverse background, and trying every event has helped me find what I am most passionate about. I was introduced to the long jump at a very young age, never thought that jumping into a sand pit was going to change my life. Even though track is an individual sport it has taught me many valuable lessons, shaping my discipline and dedication to the sport itself. Competing alongside my teammates has pushed me to strive for my personal bests and maintain respectful connections with all the members of the team. Collegiate level sports never crossed my mind, but seeing my progression over the years made me realize, that doing something I am passionate about on a higher level could benefit me in the future, giving me more insights into how to overcome challenges. I consider myself a hardworking and responsible person who is willing to take challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth and improvement. Apart from track and academic pursuits where I maintain a high GPA, I am involved in the school-sponsored Key Club volunteer program. This club not only allows me to volunteer in the community by taking part in school events and community projects, but it also serves as a means of reinforcing the value of empathy and selflessness. Overall, I believe that my diverse background, competitive spirit, and enthusiasm make me a valuable addition to any collegiate community!
