I began throwing when I was in eighth grade. I was not the best in middle school and only went to one meet as a substitute. Over that next summer I trained with an AAU team to improve my technique. I was top discus thrower my freshman year of high school but only made it to conference in disc. This year I began practicing rotational shot put and improved my PRs greatly after working with my private trainer. I broke the school record for discus and made it to finals in both shotput and discus at sectionals. I competed in the TSSAA Division One State Championship meet placing third in discus.
