All my life I have been a runner, literally. It started with chasing my brothers around as the youngest sibling to starting my running career at 10 years old. My passion for track and field has not dwindled over these past 7 years and my goals have never been forgotten. As my experience as a track and field athlete has grown, I have begun to recognize the ideal characteristics I have found upon myself that track and field has molded within me. A few being determination, discipline, and competitiveness.
No matter how hard a run or a work out maybe, I do not give up. I keep pushing forward and exceeding expectations and limits. If I lose a race or do not get the results I was hoping for, I am determined to keep improving and never be satisfied with my previous performance. I also discipline myself by committing to my strict exercise, no matter the time or day it may be. My diet is included in this discipline, as I know that a healthy diet will help contribute to the best results possible. Lastly, my competitiveness is something that I cherish in the track world. Track, being one of few sports that is individual, allows me to have full control of my own results. Every time I step on the track, I strive to beat any opponent that lines up next to me or out jump the leading jumper.
I am ready more than ever to continue to compete at a collegiate level, as this is my dream, my goal, in which I will grow into a reality. As my high school years come to an end, I plan to graduate my senior year with A-B honor roll and carry my studying techniques and willingness to learn into college. Every day I want to better myself in every aspect, whether it is on the track, in the classroom, or amongst my family. I have never settled for the least, so I am willing to give it all that I have so that I can accomplish so much more beyond high school.
