I began running in 5th grade when I joined the track and field team at the American School of The Hague, and I immediately fell in love with the sport. I joined cross country in 6th grade and continued to do both cross country and track throughout middle school after I returned to the U.S.A. It is my first year running cross country for my new high school, St. Agnes Academy of Houston Texas and was an alternate to run at the state championship which we won. We have started training for track and field and I am slated to participate in the 800 meters race and triple jump, both of which I finished in the top three at districts my 8th-grade year.
Being a part of a bigger and more competitive team has taught me to always do my best in every run because your position on the team can change every week at competitions based on your performance. When the time comes for me to select colleges, I will be interested in those which strong cross country and track and field programs, and offer undergraduate degrees in international relations as I prepare for a career in international law.
