New Deal, TX 03/1...Personal Statement
Sports, academics, and life have always been approached in the same way for me. Over the years, I have been introduced to the realization of how small things make the biggest differences, and it has drastically changed my perception of the world. Striving to be the best I can has been the root of any failure or accomplishment of mine. Whether it is academics, in the gym or in the ring, I aim to take directed control of the situation, because I then know it will be done with integrity.
I broke my school record my first meet of sophomore year before Covid-19 ended the season prematurely for everyone. I claimed the title of District and Regional champ in TAPPS, as well as finishing my season state runner-up. With a PR and furthering of my school record throw of 131' 1" in discus placed me with the top three throws in TAPPS overall for the 2021 season. I am now looking forward to off-season training for a successful senior year next spring.
One of my long term goals was to be recognized as an Academic All State Athlete in Texas which I achieved in the 2021 season and strive to repeat in 2022. Additionally I am working to graduate in the top ten percent of my class in 2022. Hard work, focus and support from my family are all responsible for my success thus far and as I continue to improve, I am certain of my future success.
