Hello, I’m Meggie Morris and I’m currently 17 years old. My goals for the future like many athletes is to run in college and to hopefully go further.
An experience that’s shaped me into who I am today was when I had POTS syndrome my Freshmen year of High School. Long story short, I couldn’t walk without using a wheelchair or a cane for at least a month and couldn’t go to school until mid February. In a teenage girls mind it was the end of the world. High school had just begun and I didn’t even get to experience the first year like any normal student athlete. But with God, time, patience, and loving parents, I grew into becoming the athlete I was supposed to be. I realized who Meggie Morris was. She is more than a long-legged girl who can run fast. She is a child of God and an overcomer.
When the fall of 2019 school year came, I wanted to work even harder to make up what I didn’t have the previous year. In every aspect of my life I strived to do so in a joyful matter. While my peers complained about their studies or my fellow track athletes that would groan about having to run, I personally never wanted a dull moment to pass.
I began working with a private sprint coach Winter of 2020 and a Strength training coach of Summer 2020. My hard work and determination to succeed holds value in every aspect in my life despite the trials I face.
To wrap up, being a candidate for any college track and field team would be an honor! I have a passion for the sport (especially for and the grit to train in it. The connections made with the coaches and the team is one of the most rewarding parts. With that being said, there’s still so much more to my story and more about me that I would rather tell in person. But for now this is just a taste of who I am.
