COMMITTED to UW - La Crosse
I have loved running since a young age and have been hurdling and sprinting competitively since 5th grade (7 years). I am a very competitive, hard-working athlete, and I am always willing to put in the extra work year-round. Track has taught me to never give up and to always challenge myself to do my best. I also love the feeling of being a leader on my varsity team and encouraging others to do their bests, as well.
My track season was cancelled my freshman year due to COVID, so my high school career started my Sophomore year. I had a very successful 2021 track season and placed 3rd in the 100M hurdles and 6th in the 300M hurdles at the WIAA D2 State Track & Field Championships.
At the start of my 2022 season, I set a goal to become an individual state champion. I am proud to have achieved that goal during my Junior year as the 2022 WIAA D2 100mH State Champion. I also was the 2022 WIAA D2 300mH State Runner-Up.
I am excited to continue my training to further improve my times and to work toward becoming a repeat State Champion in the 100mH and a State Champion in the 300mH during my senior year. I would then love the opportunity to compete in college.
I am also very motivated academically. I have worked hard to maintain a 3.95/4.0 GPA while staying involved in sports, music, and extra-curricular activities. I am continuing to work toward my goal of graduating summa cum laude, at the top of my class.
I have a very strong work-ethic both academically and athletically, and I am committed to giving my highest level of effort in all I do. I am an extremely coachable athlete and am always willing to learn, grow, and improve. I am resilient during challenging times, always staying positive and never giving up. I am also a very respectful person. I have strong relationships with my coaches and teammates because I am always supportive, I am open to receiving corrections, and I have good communication with others. Most of all, I am passionate about the sport of track, and I will continue to work my hardest and will bring all of these qualities to the college team for which I compete.
