I am a 6 foot tall, 131 lb volleyball player! Currently, I play for Coach Jenna Hope at Northwest Christian in Phoenix, Arizona for school and just finished my 16's season with Coach Amber LeTarte at AZ Storm 16 Thunder. I started playing in 5th grade when my mom helped coach our team in Colorado Springs. I then played basketball for a few years, until we moved to Arizona and I played club volleyball for the first time. I had an amazing coach as a 14 year old player, and he helped me develop my skill and love of the game. I play middle blocker. I currently work out weekly with Marc Henry, who works with many volleyball players helping them increase their strength and vertical. My vertical measurement since working with him for year and a half has increased greatly. My running approach touch is 9'11, and my block reach is 9ft 8 in.
My school schedule keeps me very busy! I currently have 3 honors classes, and am ahead 1 year of math courses. I have been able to complete several dual enrollment hours in high school already! I maintain a 4.0 GPA (unweighted). I also enjoy the many service projects we as high school students get to participate in. Recently we visited a local Phoenix school where we were able to interact with the young kids, and just play games and have a good time with them. I also enjoyed packing food boxes with Feed My Starving Children and writing letters to our sponsored Compassion International Children in Colombia and Peru. My goal is to attend a missions trip in the next year and hope to be able to someday meet our sponsored friends.
In addition to my academics, I hope to use my skills as a volleyball player to play in college. I love being a part of a sports team that allows me to build a bond with friends while attending college. I am excited to play at the next level.
My college wishes also include working for a degree in Physical therapy/Sport medicine. I spend much of my free time drawing, sketching and painting. I can spend hours quietly drawing, and find it a very relaxing way to spend my off afternoons and weekends.
I am excited to see what the next years of high school bring, and I look forward to the path that God has created for me.
