My name is Elle Faris. I have been playing volleyball since I was in fifth grade. My first season I played for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. I was recognized by my coach for my setting abilities. When my head coach told me that volleyball would be my sport, I didn’t believe him. At the time, I was focused on softball but as I continued to play volleyball I realized I had a passion for it that pulled me away from softball. I joined the Colusa Volleyball Club team for my first club season and worked with a specialized setting coach to improve my setting abilities. As time went on I was asked to stop setting and start progressing as a pin hitter because of my growth spurt. I am now in 11th grade and play for Colusa High School, a very small D5 school. Regardless it is filled with potential that goes unnoticed because of the schools small size and location.
My goals and inclinations are to be able to sign and play volleyball with a college that allows me to play the sport I love while improving and learning with every step, pushing myself to be the best version of myself as I can be and gaining as much knowledge for the game of volleyball as I can have. I plan on majoring in astrophysics and carving myself a successful future in the physics industry. I strive to show my work ethic on and off the court through training and academic works. My work ethic has been built on my drive to play college volleyball and is something I take seriously. I aspire to always be a team player and encourage my teammates to always work hard and show their talent. I have started varsity since my sophomore year after losing my freshmen year to covid. I have received MVP, All League, Coaches Choice, and Rookie of the Year Awards. I will always be willing to learn and experience volleyball at different levels. Volleyball has been a major part of my life, and it will continue to be as I work towards fulfilling my desire to be signed, while balancing school, my home life, and my commitment towards my other extra cirriculars and community.
