Magdalena (Maggie) Baker '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Maggie Baker, and I am a six-rotation Outside Hitter for the class of 2018.  I have played volleyball for 7 years and my passion for this sport grows every year.  I am an all around strong player - a powerhouse in the front row and an aggressive player in the back row as well.  I have a great connection with all my team mates and have always been considered the backbone of my teams.

I have played my entire career in volleyball in Huntington Beach, California.  I have always been a starting player on top teams and played at a very competitive level.  I love to compete and hold nothing back on the court.  In the past three years I have included playing sand volleyball as part of my regiment and it has increased my athletic ability and perspective of the game.  I have been working with a personal trainer who has me training at college level standards keeping me in the best shape for my game.

This past year (2016) my Club team earned the Silver medal at JO’s in the USA Division. My high school team won the Sunset League and came in 2nd place for State CIF Championship in our Region.

My dream is to play volleyball in college at the most competitive level.  I have developed into a confident, strong, skilled player and I am searching for a team that has the same drive to compete as I do.  Volleyball is my number one passion.  I spend all of my non-academic time either playing with my team, playing on the beach, training with my private coach or working out with my personal trainer. 

I am excited about the prospect of playing at the collegiate level and I will continue to work towards that goal.
