Carolyn Dormady '22 Recruiting Profile

I know who I am and I know what I want for my future. I am a volleyball player. I am a student. I am teammate. No matter what is going on,  when I step onto the court, nothing matters except what is in front of me, my friends, my teammates, and my goals. Volleyball has helped me figure out the person I am,  a leader, a strong, competitive, happy, enthusiastic, and intense athlete. My competitiveness and drive to win is unique to myself; I am able to motivate myself and those around me to leave everything we have out on the court and to never give up. Every chance I have to get better or improve, I use. Every critique, piece of advice, adjustment I am told to make, I will make it. Every time I am pushed to new limits while training, I find more opportunities to push even harder and go even farther than before. I knew I wanted to be a college athlete when I realised I could not fathom of not playing volleyball on a regular basis. At school, I spend most of my brunches, lunches, and occasional class period, filtering through film, listing the specific skills I want to improve as well as what I should continue to strengthen. I apply the same intensity in my sports as I do to my academics as well, as my performance in the classroom is as important to me to performing on the court. This has taught me how to keep a balance in my life, improved my ability to time manage and inhibit procrastination. My passion and drive for the sport is like no other athlete; I would be extremely blessed to continue my athletic and academic aspirations at a collegiate level, and intend on pushing myself to be there.
