Madison Phan '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Madison Phan, and volleyball has been a significant part of my life since I was 9 years old.  I started playing competitively at the age of 11 at San Gabriel Elite Volleyball Club and quickly fell in love and developed a deep passion for the game.  I started out playing as a Setter and found that this position came naturally to me.  I like having the feeling of controlling the game and running a solid offense. The satisfaction of a well-executed play and the connection with my hitters fueled my love for the sport every time we scored a point.  As a setter, I am a mini version of my coach on the court, leading the team and bringing the team together to perform well under pressure. Volleyball is not just a game for me, but the love and passion that I have since I touched the ball for the very first time is unmeasurable.  

Off the court, I am dedicated to my academic and personal growth.  I am enrolled in honor classes, school clubs, research and other volunteering positions.  Balancing academics and volleyball have instilled in me a strong work ethic, dedication, and time management skills.

My goal is to continue excelling in volleyball while pursuing my academic aspirations at a highly regarded institution.  I can’t wait to share and contribute my work ethic, passion, and leadership skill to your volleyball program.
