My name is Briliahna Afalava and I am 17 years old. I am a current senior here at Vista Del Lago High School. I am a student athlete maintaining a 3.9 GPA. I played volleyball all 4 years of high school. As a freshman, I started as a middle hitter but by sophomore year, I switched over to opposite hitter and a setter which are now my primary positions. Goals that I have set for college is to always be on top of my academics and be committed whole heartedly to a volleyball team I will play for. My aspirations in life is to be helpful towards children and become a social worker. Growing up, I was always taught to always have respect for others and be the best person I could be in life. Having that mindset allows me to always have a good time and communication skills with my coaches and my fellow teammates on and off the court. Being captain of my team this past season, it made me realize that having strong friendships and communication with my teammates is what helped us push through all the hardships and trials that were brought our way. Always lifting each other up and having excitement is what always motivated our energy to be so strong. Going into college, I want to keep my head up, strive to my fullest, and play my heart out on the court. Most importantly, make my family, friends, and teammates proud.
