I learned to play volleyball with my sister and dad in our backyard, on our "grass court." I remember being so upset that my sister was better than me so I made it my sole purpose to be better than her. My mom says this was the first time she saw my intense determination. This has helped me with all my teams. I grew up being on teams and learned how to be successful, a good teammate, and an amiable person. I am coach-able, kind, hard-working, and determined. I plan to major in nursing and hope to be a traveling nurse in the future. Throughout high school, I have had above a 4.0 GPA, been in clubs, and done over 200 hours of community service. My passion in life, besides volleyball, is helping people and I believe this is shown in my leadership skills. I was captain of my JV volleyball and soccer teams and truly care about every teammate I encounter. In terms of volleyball achievements, I got on varsity as a sophomore, got MVP as a junior with eight seniors on the team, and the same year made first-team, all-league. I know I am capable of playing collegiate volleyball, and I will work harder than anyone else to show it!
