Personal Statement

As a younger sibling to an older brother that has gone through college and played college basketball, I know what it takes to be committed to a sport. I know that to be a student athlete that I need to keep my grades up, and to take pride in my work. I also know that as a Varsity Volleyball player and JV Basketball player as a freshman that competition is no joke. I haved played Volleyball for Empire Volleyball Club out of Rohnert Park, California. That is around an hour from where I live in Ukiah, California. Yes that means three days a week for about eight months, I would travel an hour just to practice, then another hour just to get home. This last club season I decided to change things up a bit and went to a different club. I played for Aftershock Volleyball Club based out of Windsor, California, uet the practices would change from Windsor to Santa Rosa depending on the gym space/time the directors could get, but the trip would still be about an hour give or take to get there and then another to get home. Although the season was slightly shorter than the ones that I had previously endured with Empire, the hard work and dedication was still there. But I really don't mind because I know that every minute that I'm practicing I'm getting better. I look forward to that next level of play every time I step on a court. There is no holding back for me. As I make my way into my senior year of high school, all I can think about is how this could potentially be my last year playing a sport I love. Some of my goals are to go to college and get a major, but I'm not sure what in yet, I'm think physical therapy. Yet, I also would love to continue playing ball in my years of college while, hopefully, keeping my GPA up as high as I can. I also want to keep up with my community work wherever I go to school at. This is some of the stuff I do in my hometown for community service. Two years of planning a "Dig for a Cure" at my middle school, then helping with the one at the high school since my freshmen year. Volunteering for CYO(Catholic Youth Organization) Basketball by doing the scoreboard for them. Helping CYO with tryouts (EX: Helping adults sign there kids up and help setting up tryouts and tryout times).

I hope after reading this you see how self-motivated and driven I am. I really hoped you enjoyed this. Thank you!

"Somewhere behind the athlete you've become and the hours of practice and the coaches who have pushed you is a little girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back...play for her." -Mia Hamm

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
