Rachel Scott '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rachel Scott and I believe my biggest strengths are my mental toughness and my work ethic. The higher the stakes of the game, the better I play. I work very hard on my skills and fitness throughout the year.  My high school team, Coronado High School, competed at the 2019 Colorado State Tournament, Division 4A, and we finished third. I am starting my 5th season playing club with Colorado Summit VBC. During last club season, my 16 Black team won the bronze medal at the Capitol Hill Classic and I was honored to be named Best Setter for the Patriot Division. My club team finished in 5th place among 16s in Colorado last year.  During my sophomore year in high school, I was honored to be named All-Conference Honorable Mention for the 5A Colorado Springs Metro League and for the Gazette Preps 2018 Class 5A/4A All-Stars.  My freshman year, at Buena Vista High School (3A), I played outside hitter and we made it to the state tournament for the first time in school history. I was named All Conference- Honorable Mention. I love competition no matter the setting. For example, my teammate and I won a 2v2 grass tourney held in Colorado Springs in May, 2019 and in May, 2018 and my teammate and I won the 14s Junior Girls title at the 2016 King of the Mountain 2v2 grass tournament in Vail. 

Academics are very important to me and I currently have a 4.0 GPA while taking honors courses and an AP class. In college, I would like to play with a competitive volleyball program that also has strong academics.  Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!
