Faith Hemerley '21 Recruiting Profile

In my life, I have always been an athlete. Competing is something that is in my blood. My heart doesn’t beat any faster than when playing the sport I love. I played lacrosse when I was younger but came to realize my passion is volleyball. I truly love to play volleyball and the feeling of family that working together as a team gives you.

I started on Varsity my sophomore through senior year. My primary position is middle blocker but my coaches play me all the way around, even outside hitter. My junior year I made All Conference Honorable Mention with only playing half of the season. I broke my leg right before the season but have come back stronger and more inspired than ever before. I feel as though I show leadership on and off the court. I always try to help the younger players and I am usually the first one to practice and the last one to leave. 

My biggest inspiration has also come from my coaches. My club coaches are the former Head Coach of Ohio State for the past 12 years and a professional volleyball player. My high school coach is a former collegiate volleyball player. All have pushed me to become a better athlete and taught me valuable lessons not only in the game of volleyball but in life too. I appreciate everyone who has helped and supported me during this wonderful journey. 

In school I take AP and honors classes maintaining a GPA of 4.0. I am excited to find a college that will help me achieve my dreams not only athletically but academically too. I hope you might see me as an asset to your team, and I look forward to any opportunity that arises to play at the collegiate level.
