Hi coaches! I’m Jackie, 6’3 MB, class of 2023, playing for Husky Volleyball (Windsor, CT).
I’m very competitive with good quickness, agility and skills. I have a focused work ethic and listen to absorb and apply insights to improve my skills, mechanics and court awareness. I work hard to bring excitement to the team with big blocks and hits, as well as tons of court enthusiasm. I’m a very loyal teammate on and off the court and consider all my former teammates, coaches, trainers as part of my extended family.
I switched clubs in 2020 to play for Husky Volleyball- 16 National Tony. I enjoyed being challenged and playing with highly driven teammates at a much faster pace than ever before. I’m determined to become a stronger overall player learning Husky’s advanced training methods and game perspectives. Playing in the Open level against top competition was an incredible experience and we had a strong season winning multiple tournaments. Playing against top national competition in Las Vegas at Junior National’s (16 American) was the highlight of the 2020-21 season for me. Our team had alot of success there and it was very exciting and motivating to keep working hard to improve! I previously played multiple years on Bristol Crush HP (Bristol, CT) and was also on the 2020 NERVA HP Girls Youth Team.
In summer 2021, my high school team went 24-0 and won our summer league (Southington High School in Southington, CT). I made probably the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make after that around a lingering toe injury to not continue playing high school season and have surgery. It’s been a very challenging time for me. Following the season from home has not been easy at all because I want to be out there playing but I have gained a ton of game and competition insight watching live streams and analyzing stats. I will still be recovering from surgery during club tryouts and into the new year. I know with the right mindset a comeback is possible and can be greater than this setback. I’m going to work very hard to make a dominating 2022 return.
Looking ahead, I hope to connect with a small-mid sized college volleyball program in or around the New England area, with a great team culture, where I can contribute to the team’s success and reach my full potential on and off the court. I’m still undecided on a college major but am currently leaning towards Business, Human Resource Management, Sports Management or History. I also have enjoyed volunteering as a coach for younger players at Husky Pups and Bristol Crush. I’d also be interested in a program with a connection to their local club team for future coaching opportunities.
