My name is Anjali Vishwanathan, and I play Middle Blocker on defense and all front court positions on offense for my High School volleyball team. I started playing volleyball my freshman year on my school’s freshman team. I was playing and starting on the Varsity team my Sophomore and Junior years. I am now playing in my third year of club volleyball. My volleyball journey has been one of continuous improvement and my coaches compliment me on being very coachable.
Each day, I strive to improve both as an athlete and as a student. I play the Middle position since I am one of the tallest players on my team. However, I am open to playing either pin position if needed. I practice 4-5 day a week and lift weights at least two days per week. My block jump and my approach jump have both increased by 3-4 inches this year.
I am a Music and Dance major in high school and I am interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy or athletic training in college. My ideal college will be one where I can pursue my academic interests while simultaneously representing my school on a volleyball court.
