My hope is to play volleyball for a college with both a strong athletic and academic program. I love the competitiveness, physicality, and mental aspects of volleyball. Nothing beats the thrill of being in an intense game with your team and working in harmony like a machine to win a game, as we did in the 2019 State Championship my freshman year, where I started as the right-side hitter, opposite a 4-time All-State outside hitter.
I believe that the physical fitness and the ability to work as a team will be important later in life in my career. As I make plans for college, I’m looking into biology and research programs. I would like to become some kind of doctor and would probably be happiest becoming a specialized surgeon, where I do not just diagnose, but actually remedy a problem.
On the whole, I want to have a career that provides interesting, hands-on opportunities that can benefit the whole of society. I believe having a strong mind and body are important aspects to helping me achieve these goals, and I believe competitive volleyball is a great way to build that foundation in life.
