Hi, my name is Meghan Mumford and I have been playing volleyball since I was in 4th grade. I remember being so afraid trying a new sport, but from the moment I stepped out on the court, I absolutely loved it! Throughout my 7 years playing, I have learned to be a hard worker, supportive teammate, energetic leader, and how to compete and step up my game during important matches and tournaments. My passion for volleyball motivates me to go to each and every practice and match excited to learn and improve my skills, and focused and ready to play and compete at a high intensity. I am so grateful for my teammates and my coaches that inspire me to push myself every time I step on the court. In my roles as captain of my club team and libero, I use my energetic, positive, and determined personality to encourage my team both in practices and tournament matches and to fight for every point.
In addition to club volleyball, I also love playing volleyball for my high school team. I made the Varsity starting line-up as an 8th grader and have been the starting libero in both my freshman and sophomore seasons, earning all conference recognition in all three seasons. In the summer, I enjoy playing beach volleyball and focus on improving all of my skills and working hard in the sand. In addition, I am a member of the Varsity tennis team at my high school, and made the starting line-up as an 8th grader. In my freshman year, my partner and I won the 2nd doubles State Championship.
My goal is to play volleyball at the collegiate level because it brings me so much happiness and I love to compete. As a student-athlete, I am excited to continue my educational journey and pursue my academic interests in communications and psychology. I truly am so grateful for every opportunity I have to play and to learn, and I look forward to joining a college team and competing at a high level. Thank you for your interest in me as a student-athlete - I am excited to grow, learn, and compete!
