My volleyball career started in 6th grade because I wanted to be involved in school and play a sport. I never played before but tried my best and I was chosen along with 5 other 6th graders to develop and learn so we could play on the team the following year. By the middle of the season I was the only 6th grader that continued to practice and learn with the team and became the manager and was able to travel with the team and support them. I was determined to learn and earn a spot on the team next year. This is how I found the love and passion for the game.
I started playing for club in 8th grade and really started to learn the game and improve my skills. The higher competitiveness drove me to only want to learn more. I started playing as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. The last 2 years for high school I have been a setter and this is the first year I am setting for my club team. I am so excited and welcome the opportunity to learn a new position.
My last 3 years for school ball and this year for club I am captain. This position allows me to be supportive to my team members. I believe in being a team player and having clear communication on and off the court. I know through playing that this game is not only about your skills and abilities but also your mental toughness.
I have found a love and passion for volleyball and would love to continue playing at a higher level while attending college. I work hard on and off the court and am enrolled in honor classes. I welcome the challenges of advanced classes and strive to always do the best I can. At this time I am open to any opportunity to allow me to play the sport I love while receiving an excellent education.
