My name is Chloe Bell and I'm 17 years old. I live in Atlanta, Georgia and used to live in San Francisco, California and play with the San Francisco Elite Volleyball Club. I am now living back in Atlanta and attending Chamblee High School and just made the Varsity Girls Volleyball team for the Fall 2022 school year. I feel that I’m a good candidate for a college team because I really love the game of Volleyball and want to help a team win by playing a role where I’m able to use my skills. I know that I need to improve my skills and get even better and hope I can find a school which can help me reach my goals. I am used to playing for different teams since Junior High in Atlanta, Georgia and in California, so I’m good at adjusting to different coaching styles and different personalities from the girls on the team.
I think what makes me different is how I was raised by my parents and the values they shared with myself and my brother. My parents encouraged me to never quit when you’ve started something and never give up, no matter how hard it may seem. Even though I’m African-American and the only girl on the volleyball team here at the San Francisco Elite Volleyball club, I’m still treating everyone how I want to be treated regardless of their views on minorities or politics. I want to attend a college that has that same view and treats all minorities with respect and inclusion.
I have done very well in school and have a 3.9 GPA. I love learning new things and often try to do my very best in studying because I want to make my parents proud and want to have a good life when I get older. My parents have encouraged me to keep doing well in school and find something that I’m passionate about so I can be happy doing something I love. My parents also remind me to balance priorities for sports with academics so that I put the priority on my grades first. I want to do well in college and know that if I put my mind to something, then I’ll be successful.
