Anaya Martin '18 Recruiting Profile

Playing volleyball in college has always been a dream of mine. The intensity and energy of the game gives me life! I am an astounding player and will be an asset to have on your team; I have the heart, leadership, skills and athleticism. Playing with a chip on your shoulder drove many of the BEST athletes to become the best! I have always played with multiple chips on my shoulder. I have been told all of the following, "You will never be able to play at a D1 college; you're too small", "You wanna play in the Olympics? You are dreaming TOO big." Yes, these comments can be hard to hear, but they don't stop me from being the hardest worker in the gym. Now all I need is for someone to believe in me. Will it be you? Not only am I a stand out on the court, I also perform great in the classroom with a GPA of 3.98. How am I different from other recruits? Perfecting that tempo of setting or serve for long hours in the gym is what I live for!! My teammates all say I am a joy to be on the court with and that I really make them work hard. Lastly, I LOVE volleyball! As a setter, leadership is a very important aspect and asset. Taking charge of my team not only helps the team perform well, but it also helps me perform to my highest potential. I am very confident on the court because I believe confident setters make confident teams. I really hope you'll consider me to be apart of your volleyball family.
