Aloha kākou! My name is Kare Ann Oshiro from ʻAiea, Hawaiʻi of the class of 2024 at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama with an overall GPA of 4.1. I am a 5ʻ9” (120lbs) Opposite Hitter. My ultimate goal is to pursue my college degree in forensic psychiatry while also playing competitive college volleyball. I am very excited to pursue my dream of being a college volleyball player!
Since my freshman year, I have challenged myself with difficult classes to thrive in competitive academic environments. As a student-athlete, I take my academics seriously and understand that education is essential to my future development. But I am also very passionate about volleyball as it gives me balance in my life, opposite to my academic studies.
My love for volleyball is undeniable. I started playing Club Volleyball as a freshman. I am a versatile player who played Middle and Outside Hitter but primarily Opposite Hitter. I have occasionally played back-row positions when needed. Through volleyball, I have learned that leadership, perseverance, and sportsmanship are values I have used to shape me into the person I am today and the person I will become. I am a team leader who leads by example and a very coachable player. I give my all in practices and I further better myself outside of the gym to become a better player at the sport I truly love. I hope to attain my goal of playing college volleyball as well as further my academic success!
