Hello! My name is Jaylise Royos, and I have been interested in the sport of volleyball for a while. Playing at a collegiate level has been my dream since I was little. I play libero/ DS for James B. Castle High school and Ta’ahine Volleyball Club. When I was 14, I played for the 16’s team at PAVC. When I was 15 I played for the 17’s then got pulled up to play with the 18’s at Ta’ahine Volleyball Club. I am currently 16 playing for their 18’s team.
Volleyball not only taught me about team work, resilience, hard work, and determination, but it also taught me about responsibilities, priorities, and time management. Every day I step into the gym, I know I must give my 100% every moment in order to reach my highest potential. I play my hardest, whether at practice or during a game, because if I do not, I let my team down. Playing volleyball is a blessing from God and maintaining my grades at a 3.5 GPA or higher comes with the sport. My grades are very important to me, so I carry the same mentality I have on the court into my academics. I give my 100% in school to reach my academic goals of graduating college to become a registered nurse.
I would not be where I am today if it was not for God and my family. They push me everyday to always do my best and push myself no matter what I do. I not only want to graduate college and play at a collegiate level for myself, but also for my family and God.
