2021 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Aloha! My name is Zhen Li Kekuakamahaʻo Richards. I live on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaiʻi. Hawaiian is my first language and I attended Hawaiian language immersion schools from preschool until freshman year when I started at Seabury Hall. My goals in college are to do well academically and to be a valuable teammate on a Division-1 volleyball team. I love volleyball and I’ve been playing this sport since I was in third grade. I want to be on a diligent, exciting, and hardworking team that has good communication. I want to be on a team that makes me better as an athlete and as a person. I would like to pursue a career related to veterinary science. I am a good candidate for your team because I am a very vocal teammate who communicates well on and off the court. I am a hardworking athlete that truly takes in all the advice from coaches and teammates. I put in as much work as possible, but school will come first. However, volleyball will always be one of my top priorities because it truly is my passion.
