My name is Ava Taylor, I am a Freshman at Hanalani Schools, HawaiI and I've been playing competitive club volleyball for three years. Before figuring out that I had a true passion for volleyball I tried investing my time into other sports like gymnastics, dance, swimming, and cross country. With each of these sports I never developed a desire to continue them. Once I began volleyball that changed. I am someone that likes to take control of things and step into leadership roles whenever given the opportunity. Volleyball has truly allowed me to enhance my leadership skills, serve others, and focus my natural aggressiveness in positive ways. As a setter I am given the ability to make various decisions where I can control a big part of the game’s dynamic. This season I have also been blessed with the opportunity to lead as the team captain. In this position I will be able to develop myself as a person and athlete and continue to move forward in my volleyball journey with the overall goal of reaching the collegiate level.
