Temilade Adekoya '18 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Temi! I started playing volleyball when I was 9 years old. My first experience with the sport was when I tagged along with my older sister to summer conditioning at her high school. Over these weeks, I loved playing and doing drills with her team, and her coach even said that I had great potential if I kept up with it. That moment started me on my journey as a volleyball player, and I haven't stopped since then!

Over the last few years, I've played multiple positions including outside, right side, DS, and also setter for both my club and high school teams. Most recently, my coaches and I have realized my growth and strength as a defensive player due to my agility, quick thinking, and improvement of our offense with great defense. I really hope to see myself continue this defensive position in college, but I'm a versatile player and up for any challenge. I believe my best strengths are being open to new things, spreading energy to my teammates, and keeping up the momentum on the court.

Outside the court, I'm interested in studying Human Biology to eventually become a doctor in the future. My biggest wish would be to specialize in Pediatrics or Obstetrics. Therefore, I'm looking for a college/university that will help me pursue my medical aspirations as well as afford me the opportunity to play at a collegiate level.
