As soon as I started playing volleyball in 5th grade, I knew that it was something I wanted to keep in my life. My parents and my sibilings made sacrifices in order for me to play club and do an assortment of clinics and camps. It's always been a passion of mine. From the day I had my first practice I was hooked, and I've kept with it every since.
Volleyball consists of three things: skill, strong mental game, and passion. I believe that I incorporate all of these things when playing, and I believe that's what makes me a good candidate.
Volleyball isn't just a skills game; it's a very mental game. Although I have my share of problems, I always try to stay positive and always support my teammates and be respectful. I've learned to let go of the mistakes I've made and how to learn from them.
I'm a good candidate because I'm very hardworking and I put 110% into every rep and every drill. Everyone also tells me that I'm a natural born leader and that I'm very dedicated. I'm looking for a school that will challenge me not only on the volleyball court, but also in the classroom because my education is very important to me.
Not only do I play volleyball, but I'm also on my high school's varsity softball team; I've been a starter since my freshman year. I've been able to keep my grades up and stay on honor roll considering most of my time down time is spent training.
When I'm not at volleyball or softball, I'm with a personal trainer who's helping me improve my vertical and making me stronger. It's important to me that I keep working outside of practice because I know I can be better and I'm always striving to improve.
