Hi! My name is Katie Debs and I am a 6'3" Middle Blocker junior at Lyons Township High School, Illinois. I started my club season of volleyball at my 13's year for Lions Jrs' and have made it all the way to 1st Alliance on my 17's year now. Ever since I was little I always looked up to the "big girls" on the court, and now I can say I am one of the big girls that I hope other kids can look up to! This year, I have been moved up to the 18‘s age level, and compete on 18 Gold’s team for 1st Alliance!
When I am on and off the court I consider myself to be very hardworking in school and volleyball, outgoing, and an upbeat teammate all-throughout the season. I am a very positive person, so I always provide a very encouraging atmosphere for my teammates. I have always been very tall, even since I was little, and I am proud to say this makes me stand out to many people. I am always trying to improve my volleyball skills, so every time I touch a volleyball I put all effort forwards.
I work very hard in school and currently have a weighted GPA of 4.25. In the future, I would love to see myself working with children, so I am planning to have an education major in college. Also, I would really like to continue my volleyball career after I graduate college, and while being a teacher, I would love to coach volleyball in school, or for a club team. I involve myself in German Club, as well as a club called Best Buddies, which is gaining a friendship bond with a disabled high school student. Using my leadership skills, I can communicate very well with everyone in the club, and have gained more than just one friendship in this club.
