I want to play volleyball throughout my entire college career as well as continuing to maintain my high GPA. I work well with others and have been complimented on my volleyball and academic abilities as well as my abilities to be teachable and adapt to new things. Several teachers have trusted me from a young age with responsibilities such as taking money unsupervised to the office, being in charge of class, and grading papers. My coaches have asked me to start and lead practices for volleyball. I don’t have an attitude with teachers, coaches, or leadership. I feel like that makes me different from a lot of other students and athletes my age. My parents taught me to respect and treat others as I want to be treated and also to always be polite and try my hardest. I get good grades because I work for them, and I feel like that also sets me apart from some other students who don’t really try to get good grades. As far as volleyball, I have a net at home and I practice with my mom (who also played volleyball) and the rest of my family any chance I get. I go to volleyball camps and open gyms within a two hour radius of my house, and I took volleyball lessons from a college volleyball player two summers ago. I tried out for two volleyball clubs this past fall and was offered a position with both clubs. I accepted the position with the club located closer to my house, and am on the 16’s regional and a sub for the national team. I love volleyball more than anything and I work hard for my grades and on improving my volleyball skills so I can hopefully play in college.
