Personal Statement

I want to play volleyball throughout my entire college career as well as continuing to maintain my high GPA.  I work well with others and have been complimented on my volleyball and academic abilities as well as my abilities to be teachable and adapt to new things.  Several teachers have trusted me from a young age with responsibilities such as taking money unsupervised to the office, being in charge of class, and grading papers. My coaches have asked me to start and lead practices for volleyball.  I don’t have an attitude with teachers, coaches, or leadership.  I feel like that makes me different from a lot of other students and athletes my age.  My parents taught me to respect and treat others as I want to be treated and also to always be polite and try my hardest.  I get good grades because I work for them, and I feel like that also sets me apart from some other students who don’t really try to get good grades.  As far as volleyball, I have a net at home and I practice with my mom (who also played volleyball) and the rest of my family any chance I get. I go to volleyball camps and open gyms within a two hour radius of my house, and I took volleyball lessons from a college volleyball player two summers ago.  I tried out for two volleyball clubs this past fall and was offered a position with both clubs.  I accepted the position with the club located closer to my house, and am on the 16’s regional and a sub for the national team. I love volleyball more than anything and I work hard for my grades and on improving my volleyball skills so I can hopefully play in college.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsI have received awards throughout my school career for the highest grade in class or one of the highest. I have received various certificates from volleyball camps for serving, passing, and setting abilities, as well as the highest digging percentage award from my junior high volleyball coach for my 7th grade year. I got the highest hitting percentage award from my junior high volleyball coach for my 8th grade year. In my 8th grade year I also got on the 2nd team for the 2022-2023 Little GEC All Conference Volleyball Team out of my whole team. In that award it is based on my stats during the year but also on what other coaches see in a game, so they pick someone who has good sportsmanship and also has good enough skill to be part of that award. This award is special to me because there are only 12 athletes they can pick out of more than 10 teams. I have been on Honor Roll and High Honor Roll for the majority of my school career and broke the school record for advanced reading.
  • ActivitiesI am active in my church and volunteering in various activities related to it. In my sophomore year, I am in Beta Club, Scholar Bowl, FCA, and National Honor Society.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
