Mckenzi Barnett '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is McKenzi Barnett i play basketball and volleyball for Maroa-Forsyth high school in Maroa, Illinois and will be graduating in the class of 2023. I also play club volleyball for Illini Elite out of Bloomington, Illinois. I started playing volleyball in third grade for fun, while also playing basketball for our school’s team. By the time I got into fifth grade I was falling in love with volleyball and knew I wanted to go further than just high school. I want to continue to  learn and grow my knowledge, skills and abilities in volleyball at the collegiate level. While participating in year round volleyball I have also successful in academics carrying a 3.0 gpa on a 4 point scale. Academics are very important to me, I work hard to accomplish excellence in the classroom. I’ve continually made honor roll through my school years. In addition to academics and sports I also do volunteer work within my community. 

I am looking for a school with a good balance between sports and academics. As of now, I would to go to school to become a veterinarian or an interior designer. I would make a great addiction to any team because I am a team player. I aim to do my best at all times, I am a good listener and I always strive to have the best attitude on and off the court. I know playing volleyball at the collegiate level is a once in a lifetime chance and I intend to work hard and push myself to reach my goals.
