My teammates on the freshman school team got along well and we won most our games and tournaments. My freshman club season influenced me as a player the most, because it was the hardest one to be a part of. I was on the sophomore team, and we lacked the positive team environment, which taught me the importance of a good mentality and determination. Halfway through the season I started to push myself harder than I had before. I spent extra hours on the court every day just to get reps in. While that season helped with my physical growth, it also helped me with my mental growth more than anything. It made me a better teammate and leader too.
During my sophomore school season, I valued being a starter on the varsity team. Being the only setter, I was able to be in every game, and appreciated all the playing time to improve my skills. The second half of my sophomore club season, I played up on the 18's Red team. We were the national champions at the AAU 18 Club tournament, and I received a Spirit Award at Sports Performance Club! Summer 2021 kept busy with beach volleyball practices and competing in tournaments. Placed 1st & 2nd place in several tournaments.
Keeping focused now on my junior school year on varsity by improving my defense specialist and setting skills. Working hard at practices too, pushed myself to be one of the top 3 to finish in the bleacher mile. Played for a new club, Team One and was the team captain. Attending sand volleyball practices and competing in tournaments in the Summer.
I will always bring energy and positive comments to the court. No matter what position I am in, I am working hard to get better. I am usually a setter, but I enjoy playing as a DS or libero as well. I also enjoy playing beach volleyball. Overall, my determination, consistency, and readiness to work on the court are also reflected in the work that I do at school.
