My name is Taylor Wiersema, and I am a Libero/DS for the class of 2022. I have played volleyball for 8 years, and I love it more every year. When I step into the gym, I am not only trying to make myself better but also my team. I am a well-rounded volleyball player being able to play any position on the front row and back row if necessary. I am a supportive and encouraging teammate and very coachable player. I don't make excuses when I make mistakes and I don't dwell on it but rather focus on making the next play better. I not only give all I have in practice but I work extensively outside of practice to further develop my skills to become better at the sport I truly love. I have played sports ever since I can remember. My parents truly believe and have instilled in me that playing a sport is about more than great athleticism and skill but much more about life...being part of a team, accountability, dedication, hard work, and determination. I have played club volleyball for 6 years; furthermore; I played high school volleyball for 4; furthermore. I am not scared of hard work and I have found a successful balance between family, volleyball, and academics. My love for volleyball is undeniable as well as my love for competing. I know it takes hard work, dedication, and passion to be successful at the next level. I believe I would be a great asset to your program.
